Estimate your real out-of-pocket cost by format and guest count — including the ご祝儀 (goshūgi, gift money) that self-funds part of a Japanese wedding. In plain English, for international couples.
Figures are ranges from the ゼクシィ結婚トレンド調査 and venue-market data, not quotes. The number couples actually need is net out-of-pocket — gross cost minus the ご祝儀 your guests bring — which this tool shows.
Wedding format
Traditional hotel / 専門式場Full ceremony + 披露宴 reception at a dedicated hall or hotel.
Guest-house / restaurant weddingレストランウェディング — more relaxed, often a bit cheaper.
会費制 party (flat fee per guest)Guests pay a set 会費 instead of ご祝儀 — common casual format.
Small / family-only (少人数婚)~10–20 guests, intimate ceremony + meal.
Photo-only (フォトウェディング)No ceremony — studio or location shoot in attire.
Ceremony abroad + Japan partyMarry overseas, then a 会費制/casual party back in Japan.
Guest count
Split matters: Japanese-side guests typically bring ご祝儀; foreign guests usually don't (a cultural difference), so the offset only counts JP-side guests.
